6 months agoIf you are considering to go to D Maris Bay Hotel or Manos Restaurant in Hisarönü you MUST READ this. Especially if you have any medical condition. On Saturday evening we went to Manos Restaurant inside D Maris Bay Hotel with my bestfriend for dinner. Because I have several allergies, I took my time to review each item. I told our waiter about all my allergies and ordered a green salad, some cheese and octopus all had to be prepared accordingly. While we were eating I noticed an allergic reaction before I could say much I started swelling all over. Now D Maris Bay Hotel is a huge hotel with several restaurants inside premises. Manos Restaurant is one of these so it is not inside the hotel building. This hotel is so big it has buggy shuttles to drive between restaurants. I got lucky. There was a security guy next to our table and he called the hotel doctor for me. Now while security was calling an ambulance and the hotel doctor, the Manos Restaurant waiters came to my friend with the check and asked for the payment right when I was dying. At this point I am getting unconcious but trying to hold on to my epipen to have more time. This hotel is in the middle of nowhere. I only have one epipen 300 mg and I dont want to die on the way to hospital right? When my friend tries to keep me awake, she is trying to pay the bill, God know how she managed. The buggy arrives. The moment I sat in the buggy I shot myself with my epipen right away. My friend told me it took about 5 minutes till we were in the doctors room. If you have allergies you know after getting the adrenaline and swelling comes down you need kortizol. So this doctor, official doctor of D Maris Hotel Bay could not establish a vascular access. Mind you, room rates in this hotel starts from 5000 euros. He tried so many times and swelling is not getting any better. After several unsuccessfull attemps he gives me two shot of whatever on the bottocks. It has been 4 days now, you can see a picture of my arm picture completely ruined. Back to the event, only one person "Esra" from the hotel has actually came to doctors room asking what happened. My friend explained the situation and thats it. After a total 30 minutes ambulance arrives. They came in, emergency personel gave me the IV from the other arms in a second, put me the ambulance. I get better on the way to the hospital. After couple of hours, all the swelling is gone and I feel better I asked to be discharged. They came up with a bill, because apperantly this is a private hospital which has a deal with D Maris Bay Hotel. Knowing the law in Türkiye, I refuse to pay. I have an insurance, I could have paid and get the money back but in Türkiye if you have an emergency, the law is whoever it is whatever hospital it is they have to be treated for free. One of the hospital personal finally agreed and we left without paying. Remember there was one person from the hotel who came to doctors room named Esra, she took my friends phone number and sent her our order picture from the evening while we were in the hospital. The next day on Sunday of course I await a call, something from the D Maris Bay Hotel and the Manos Restaurant. Nobody reached out. I called Esra and asked that the Manos Restaurant was collecting the bill while I was in allergic reaction forgot to provide the bill. I would like to have the bill. I also would like to know what are they doing about their incompetent hotel doctor and how are they investigating the Manos Restaurant. I could have died if I did not have my epipen. She says she will get back to me. Couple of hours later, a number sent me the out invoice on whatsapp. On Monday I got an unsuccessful call and a following message on whatsapp that says they called me from the Manos Restaurant but there must be a cellular problem and we can not talk. Today is Tuesday. 3 days after our dinner/dying experiend in Manos Restaurant and D Maris Bay Hotel, I have yet to receive an apology. I hope it helps you to decide if you ever consider to go to Manos Restaurant or D Maris Bay Hotel.

a year agoThe moment you put your step into the restaurant you feel like you’re in one of the Greek Islands. Hosts are welcoming and dressed like ancient Greek women. The place is overstaffed and has knowledge about what they’re serving. However, they brought all the food in a hurry. Greek/Turkish tavern culture is based on slow and small bites. They brought everything in 20 minutes. The food was good but not impressive. Live music starts around 8:30-9 p.m. and people start dancing around 10 p.m. Things started to go down at this point. There is a 35 lira plate charge if you want to break some, and you can order a minimum 30 pieces, which is fine. Waiters put other tables’ plates right next to your table and let a 7-year-old break them upon you! We had to stand and got away from OUR TABLE. When we say that this was disrespectful and unacceptable waiter told us “when people get drunk this happens”. Total disrespect! Prices are high but acceptable. HOWEVER they kept pouring water to our glasses without even asking and charged as 1600₺ it, a cheap place move!!! People who enjoy this place has a lot of money but zero taste in life. A greek tavern should never serve Hooka! Manos Restaurant just want the money not the quality people…

a year agoOne of the few restaurant options at the exclusive D-maris bay resort is this authentic greek seafood place. The food is not to everybody’s taste; we had a few raw seafood apetizers which wasn’t something to remember and even the cooked seabass was dry. I would recommend going there for the atmosphere and enjoy the staff members greek dances. The atmosphere gets more intense and the music louder going through the night while the dancefloor fills with people as you will be offered plates to break at the climax of the party scene

5 months agoWe have been travelling all over the world haven’t seen such a low qualified waiter. There has been a waiter called Yusuf who has zero knowledge about hospitality and customer satisfaction. Food is average. The only thing is the atmosphere that is worth going.
