5 months agoWe went for dinner at the hotel restaurant. The hotel is quite a long way out of town but they have a free shuttle that runs to and fro town during the day. We asked the server when we sat down if it would be possible for us to take the shuttle back after dinner and they said no problem, we will arrange it for you. We were a party of six. We had the set menu and a few bottles of wine and a few digestifs. The food was aright, but nothing spectacular. The atmosphere was lovely, and the views were magical. The bill came to over €500 and then they added €50 for the shuttle bus!! We asked to speak to the manager about why we weren’t told about the cost of the shuttle service at the outset. He shrugged his shoulder saying that normally the staff informs customers about it, and he has to pay extra for a staff member to take us, and so he can’t do anything. He didn’t apologise for the fact that we weren’t informed, didn’t offer a round of drinks as an apology, didn’t take the charge off the bill - nothing. We finished our drinks and took the dusty, dirty shuttle back to town centre. The drive took 7 minutes. French service at its finest.

6 months agoHope they changed management. After a bad experience I was planing to try again. But after reading some comments, I’ll pass and thought I would add mine. years ago, we left our boat at the port and walk there on an evening. Waited for a table for an hours that never came and didn’t felt welcome. I guess not the typical customer, young and casual as we were coming from a week on the boat. When we decided to leave and asked some help to get back to the harbor. Mostly told us you are on your own. And had to walk back at night. They were rude and seem that it didn’t change. Can’t comment on food as we never got a table.

4 months agoThey serve delicious foods all from local sources. The rooms were V comfortable and the place was true to the spirit of the island of porquerolles.

8 months agoDespite the delightful location the hotel is very tired with a very aloof manager, refused to provide all contracted services, the food is very out of date and not enticing. The rooms are in a state of disrepair and the general ambience is one of a hotel living on its past glories. Value for money is very poor
