The White House restaurant is defined by salt, sea and good food, as much as it is by history, heart warming hospitality and the island of Corfu. Imagine yourself bathing in the sunlight, listening to the waves’ calm melody whilst you awaken your sense of taste with our fresh seafood delicacies and local white wine. The White House Restaurant quite literally sits on the water’s edge overlooking Kalami Bay on the north east coast of Corfu. It is the lower ground level of the world famous White House, the Corfu residence of author, Lawrence Durrell. “We are committed to providing fine dining, we maintain an extensive wine cellar and offer the highest quality service”.
Our philosophy is all about using fresh local produce of the finest quality. This means that our menu is adjusted seasonally. Many of our dishes are based on traditional Corfiot recipes, handed down by the previous generations. Many of The White House dishes were particular favourites of the Durrells, thereby preserving our link with the rich history of the area.“Fish, caught daily from our own boat, seasonal vegetables and locally reared organic meat and poultry form the basis of all our dishes. To these we add expertise and love.”

7 months agoThe White House is a stunning location situated in a beautiful bay on the east of Corfu island with Albania in sight. We hired a boat for the day and travelled up the coastline, pulling in to a deserted little cove to swim and relax in the boat. We had dinner at the White House on our return, and the food, service, and atmosphere were superb. It is in a higher price range, but well worth it if you are looking for a little indulgence.

9 months agoThis place is so beautiful. The restaurant is very fancy with impeccable service and beautifully plated food. They don't constantly ask you how your meal is/do you need anything, too. We had a crab & avocado appetizer. I had fish of the day in cuttlefish blood sauce and it was delicious. I ordered the Aegean G&T in honor of Louisa. The chef went around and greeted the tables. FYI it's expensive.

7 months agoFortunate to arrive by boat which set the tone for a great afternoon, great ambience, superb service and food. Costos who served us was splendidly charming and knowledgeable of the wine and food. Not only was the food packed with great flavours but beautifully presented. Totally recommend this restaurant in enviable location perched next to the sea

11 months agoThe most perfect restaurant imaginable. The staff are brilliant, the food selection is vast and even good for vegetarians! We went on their first opening evening for the season and were met with a warm welcome and the meals were excellent. Through no fault of the restaurant, there were some pompous clientele moaning about anything they could and they could not accept certain products were unavailable on an opening night - it’s a Greek island which is small in the grand scheme of the country and slight alterations must be understood. However this provided great entertainment for the rest of the customers who did a collective eye roll when they started asking stupid questions. A great place whether you love the Durrells or not!
