What is striking when arriving at the Château de la Chèvre d’Or is its exceptional location: nestled on the heights of a medieval village on the side of a rock, the establishment offers a stunning view of the hinterland.

Château de la Chèvre d’Or is one of the few places in the world that truly is unique in so many ways and that has walked its own path over the years without looking too much at what everyone else is doing. The hotel is spread around the Eze Village with its personally designed rooms and suites, but the fine dining room stays the same in the main building on the second floor.

If there was a competition which restaurant offers the most amazing view in the world, Château de la Chèvre d’Or would probably have won because the panorama views you have over major parts of the Côte d’Azur is nothing but breathtaking. You can just sit and look at the view for hours and when the sun goes down you can have a look at the beautiful paintings by Jean Philippe Desplanques in the dining room while you have your dinner with some of the best ingredients available. Most of the ingredients come from France like the oysters from Brittany and the pigeons from Bresse. The different qualities of caviars all come from Château de la Chèvre d’Or’s own selection and brand.

You will have traditional haute cuisine, but with welcomed additional elements. Most of the key staff at Château de la Chèvre d’Or has worked at the property for many years, like the excellent Head Sommelier Philippe Magne and Sommelier Claude Derrien who have worked at the restaurant for more than two decades.

My girlfriend and I went to the restaurant as part of a Michelin tour. By the end of the night, we decided this was one of the best Michelin restaurants we had ever been to. The atmosphere was great before and during dinner. The food was absolutely outstanding.

We had lunch there, and it was nice. The place and the view was spectacular. The food was great. Just need to beware of the car getting in and out.

A MUST stay at this truly incredible location. Unique 5 star hotel, with impeccable service, delicious gourmet food, substantial breakfast and a boulangerie onsite! VIEWS FOREVER! On a sublime terrace. Staff went above and beyond. All within a medieval village. Superb from beginning to end!

The Château de La Chèvre d’Or is a world class hotel with one of the most incredible views on the Riviera. Situated on the side of the mountain, overlooking the sea the hotel grounds are expansive and peaceful, away from the crowds just meters away. The suites are simply beautiful, with plenty of space for sleeping, relaxing and entertaining. Our suite had a private pool and deck overlooking the sea. The beds are incredibly comfortable. Service here is impeccable.

Gorgeous view. (Poor signal and no wifi in public area) The shower/bath tub design can cause a little flooding and the temperature is slightly unstable after five minutes. Rooms are large and beautiful, though the staircase (esp those directly beneath the room door) may be sometimes dangerous. Simple dinner at the terrace cafe. The pizzas are decent. The tuna salami one and the truffle ham both taste good. The grilled fish for share is alright, not too dry, but the neck and head is quite raw and bloody inside. Breakfast also comes with a great view. I love the bread selection— the seeded rye baton and the olive fougasse are lovely. Cheese and ham aren’t my favorite here. The croissant is on the softer side and maybe a bit too buttery. The salmon and avocado and fruit cup are nice too. Hope there were more vegetables. Light snacks before departing. Expensive but it’s good to chill inside the hotel without venturing out at noon under the blazing sun. Interestingly tasty olives and candied almonds with cumin seeds, and rosemary cashews are always irresistible for me. Salad consists of a whole crunchy ball of fresh cabbage and some quail eggs, tomato, tuna, artichokes and other veggies. The sauce is mayo-based, not too heavy, but still a little too much. Olive bread is lovely. Staff members are generally friendly. Service can be confused during meal time and exacerbated by grumpy entitled guests. Special thanks to the “running man” whom I encountered more than three times around the property, always cheerful, and led me through the shortcuts and watched over my phone.
