On the Promenade des Anglais, Le Negresco, which celebrates its 110th anniversary in 2023, sits majestically in its seafront location. Le Chantecler, its fine dining restaurant, has “Meilleur Ouvrier de France” 2015 Virginie Basselot at the helm. In this exceptional setting, the Normandy-born chef doesn’t beat around the bush, training her laser-like focus on serving up creative contemporary cuisine in the form of two set menus (without options, except for the dessert course) and an à la carte menu made from top-notch ingredients. Simplicity wins the day: cf. the poultry, white cabbage, kumquat and pistachio, or the subtle use of olive oil in the sweet dishes.

    Exceptional Dining Experience. The restaurant offers a wonderful ambiance and a very welcoming team. Our four-hour meal was a journey through beautifully prepared dishes. The ingredient combinations were both surprising and delightful. Our group sampled the a la carte menu, the 8-course tasting menu, and the 5-course tasting menu. The pacing of each course and the palate cleansers in between were well-timed. The staff ensured everyone felt included by offering extra small plates to those with fewer courses. The unexpected birthday desserts at the end were a delicious surprise. I would certainly recommend this Michelin-starred restaurant.

    A perfect restaurant for a perfect night! This place truly deserves its Michelin star. Our evening at Le Chantecler was filled with delightful surprises, from complimentary entrées to special birthday desserts. Every bite was an explosion of flavors. The service was impeccable, and the elegant ambiance made us feel transported to another world. A special mention for the takeaway gift—the best gingerbread I’ve ever tasted. I highly recommend this unforgettable experience!

    When you go to a Michelin restaurant you have many expectations and you will not be disappointed at all. Classic French historic environment from the moment you walk into the hotel and walk to the restaurant. From the amazing art work to the stunning restaurant awaits you. The food experience is second to none. We dined on Friday evening and just wanted to share the experience. Enjoy

    It’s been 6 years ever since I first saw ‘Le Chantecler’ in 2018. Never have I thought, I would come this finest restaurant in Nice with someone I love. 1. Food Either course of the menu would be nice because it is highly likely you would have not experienced this kind of cuisine in this world. 2. Service Everyone in the restaurant will serve you as if you were the special one. Their manners are outstanding. 3. Atmosphere If you enter the restaurant, you can see the beautiful view of Nice and the interior of the restaurant matches as well Special thanks to Dario, who served me with kindness I’ve never experienced. Don’t know when to come back but definitely the best and perfect place to have fine dining with someone you love.

    I came tonight with my fiancé, my little 1.5 year old daughter, this was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had.
