If there is one legendary institution in Pampelonne, it is indeed Club 55, which has resisted all the changes experienced on the private beaches of Saint-Tropez in recent years, including the classification of Pampelonne as a remarkable natural area. “Here the customer is not the king… because he is a friend” is the philosophy adopted at Club 55 and this rule of conviviality has been perpetuated since its opening in 1955. The kindness of the owner Patrice de Colmont, his extraordinary sense of hospitality and his respect for the natural and wild environment of Pampelonne are the ingredients for the success of this beach.
The celebrities and great personalities who have already spent their stay lounging on the deckchairs and chatting for hours on end with Patrice have undoubtedly also contributed to the success and longevity of the Club 55. At the Club, anonymous as famous people feel at home because simplicity and kindness are the order of the day. Here, the Saint-Tropez of yesteryear is celebrated in an authentic Provençal setting without artifice, right up to the table, with organic wines, or on the plate, with simple Provençal dishes such as artichoke vinaigrette.

6 months agoThis place is an absolute scam. The food is very simple, served in very small portions and the price for it is huge. 45€ for small portions of mussels and fries portion smaller than McDonald’s Happy Meal. Tiny portion of grated carrots for 12€ and so on.. It’s crazy hot in there, there is no AC or fan and all waiters are rude, impatient and not available at all. Walking between table is difficult by how tiny are space between people (to fit more table I guess), and sand on the floor is maybe the cherry on top of the cake to make the experience the worse as possible. Avoid this place and visit simpler restaurants around, it’ll be cheaper and better in any ways. The only positive point was the area for parking and the guys taking care of it.

6 months agoOur recent visit was a mixed experience, with highs and lows that left us disappointed overall. On the positive side, the food and drinks were excellent, with delicious flavors and a beautifully curated menu that gave a nod to the region’s culinary traditions. The decorations were equally impressive, creating a stylish and inviting atmosphere that was aesthetically pleasing. However, the beach club experience was far from what we had hoped for. Despite being allowed to bring our dog, the proximity of the beach beds made it impossible to relax without tension. The beds are packed so closely together that it's a miracle if your dog—or anything else—doesn’t accidentally cross into someone else’s space. Unfortunately, our dog did, and a nearby guest who also had a dog was quick to confront us, making for an uncomfortable situation. Her judgmental glances throughout our stay only added to the negative vibes. I had booked well in advance, requesting a hut, but was told there was a waiting list—essentially implying that unless you’re someone “important,” don’t hold your breath. The place seems to cater to a particular crowd: those with more money than manners, who appear more interested in flaunting their wealth than genuinely enjoying the experience. We noticed numerous couples more engaged with their phones than each other or their children, while nannies were left to entertain their kids. It felt like a sad display of superficiality rather than a place to unwind and have fun. Adding insult to injury, the valet service left a bad taste in our mouths. After a pricey day, we chose to retrieve our car ourselves, only to be asked if we were going to tip for parking. This was particularly frustrating, given that we had already spent a significant amount at both the restaurant and beach club. If valet parking isn’t included in the already steep prices, that should be made clear upfront—either provide a receipt or don’t expect a tip. Being told to park outside next time was the final straw. Frankly, there won’t be a next time. Le Club 55 is more concerned with catering to a pretentious crowd than providing a truly enjoyable experience for all its guests. It’s a shame because the food, drinks, and decor are top-notch, but the overall atmosphere leaves much to be desired.

8 months agoWe had the pleasure of celebrating my wife’s birthday at Le Club 55 in Saint-Tropez, and it was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was vibrant and lively, especially when the music started playing, adding to the overall charm of this beautiful spot. For lunch, my wife enjoyed the mussels, which were fresh and perfectly cooked, while I indulged in the lamb, and it was nothing short of incredible. The flavors were rich and the presentation was impeccable. We finished our meal with the red fruit tart for dessert, and it was AMAZING. The tart was the perfect blend of sweetness and freshness, leaving us thoroughly impressed. Le Club 55 offers an amazing vibe, perfect for a celebratory lunch. The picturesque setting and the attentive service made our time there truly special. We had such a fun and memorable time, and we can’t wait to return. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a delicious meal in a stunning location.

8 months agoWe were all excited to visit Le Club 55, and it truly is a great spot to go with a group of friends. The ambiance is chill, fun, and beautiful, making it a delightful place to hang out. However, the service can be a bit slow due to the size of the venue and the limited space for servers to move around efficiently. Unfortunately, we found the food to be quite average. Despite this, I would still return, but I wouldn’t set high expectations for the culinary experience.
